Proxy Server

A proxy server administers Internet access.

During this process, the system stores all requests from the network on a proxy server, which fetches the information from the Internet and saves it on the hard disk, where the workstation can access the information.

Multiple requests for the same information (e.g., from different workstations) do not need to be retrieved from the Internet, but can be made available directly on the proxy server.
