Hyperlink

The links in hypertext or hypermedia to other text, media or documents are known as "hyperlinks" or simply "links".

They create a hierarchical information structure within a document or between various documents.

Activating an element marked as a link (by clicking on it with the mouse, for example) takes the user to a linked text, table or image, etc.

Internal cross references in a text allow users to quickly jump to other information and back to the original position again without having to read the entire text.
