Client

A client refers to software or hardware that can take advantage of particular services from a server.

With hardware, this is usually a computer that can access a network and provide services to the user from there yet does not actually offer any services of its own.

With software, a client is used to refer to all programs that offer network functions, such as browsers, FTP clients and e-mail programs, for example.
