Bridge
A bridge is similar to a router. The device connects two identical or different LANs together.
Unlike a router, a bridge is protocol-independent. It simply forwards the information packets from one LAN to the other without worrying about analysing or re-routing the data. This means that a bridge is much faster than a router, but cannot be used for as many purposes.
